I was there and loved it!!!
This was my 3rd show and I think the Dead liked to play the War Memorial Aud. Sound is great and the mix gives some of the airyness of the venue...

This was my 3rd Grateful Dead concert having been “baptized” the previous summer at Alpine Valley August 7&8,1982. Was still becoming familiar with the band & didn’t recognize most of the material. I sat not too far up in the stands on Phil’s side. This was when you could still roam freely around a show & just pick a spot. I do remember totally grooving to Shakedown. I had been playing drums for 3 years at this point, so the drum sequences were always appealing to me (didn’t go for bathroom & beer break! Lol) was nicely dosed & remember during Space the lights were dripping purple onto the dead’s huge Afghan stage rug. If you are someone who likes listening to “Space”, this is one of the best I saw. Great sound on this one. The Matrix from that Dusborne put up from Syracuse ‘83 is also an awesome sounding one as well. Check it out too!!!
